Y2K Full Movie Review:
Y2K tries to combine tech horror with the formula of popular teen comedies like “Superbad,” but in the end it only gives us a mess. It relies hard on your knowledge and memories of Y2K, 1999/2000 trends in music, and low-budget horror films to carry the humor but its story falls apart halfway through. The third act is a mess that is only saved by one of the most absurd cameos that makes jokes about themselves. In the end, Y2K can be funny with a few laugh-out-loud moments, but the majority of those laugh-out-loud moments are caused by how ridiculous what happened just now was. If you were between the ages of 13 and 20 in 1999 and 2000, you might like the movie, but it doesn’t give you enough to make you want to go back.
